Fire Hydrant Maintenance Requirements

Fire hydrant systems are prescribed fire safety installations and must be maintained under Division 3 of the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. Commissioning must be completed by a licensed Fire Systems Certifier, who issues Form 71 along with a detailed compliance report. Ongoing maintenance requires a licensed technician to issue Form 72, which records findings in accordance with the Queensland Development Code Mandatory Part 6.1.
